Discovery Tour
  • Day 01 – Arrive in Antananarivo
Arrival at Ivato International airport.After custom clearance, meeting and assistance by an English speaking agent.Then short city tour in Antananarivo ( Tana for shorter), capital of Madagascar.Overnight at Relais des Plateaux/ Ivotel on bed and breakfast.
  • Day 02 – Tana/Ranomafana (about 10 hours drive with all stops)
After an early breakfast , drive southward through a scenic road . Passing through  Antsirabe , this town is the Malagasy Industrial centre where they brew the national famous beer THB ( Three Horses beer). It is as well noted for the thousand of rickshaws known as Pousse-pousse which enliven the streets. then continuing till Ambositra and stop for lunch , known as the Malagasy woodcarving capital . Visit of some workshop there. Arriving at Ranomfana late in the evening –Check in to the hotel Domaine Nature/Centr’est  and overnight on full board .
  • Day 03 – Ranomafana
In the morning, visit of the typical rainforest where inhabit 11species of lemurs: 5 nocturnal and 6 during day time (such as red bellied and red fronted lemur) especially the golden bamboo lemur, newly found in 1986. Magnificent vegetation and bird watching is excellent at this spot.In the afternoon, visit of the village, information centre and possibility of swimming in a warmed spring water swimming pool then back to the forest to seek the tiny mouse lemurs and the narrow stripped civet. Overnight at Domaine Nature/Centr’est on full board.
  • Day 04 – Ranomafana /Isalo (about 8hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to Fianarantsoa ( Capital of the Betsileo tribe) for 1h30 drives. It is the second largest city after Tana. It is a lovely cool town and an interesting maze of cobbled lanes, steep alley and medieval architecture. Then departure southward to Ambalavao for 1 hour drives. But before, stop photo en route to spot the terraced rice paddies and for wine tasting. Then arrival at Ambalavao for a visit of the handmade “ Antemoro paper” and silk weaving workshop . Lunch here.In the afternoon, departure but 1st stop 12 km later for the villager’s park of ANJA to see the ring-tailed lemurs. Then a good scenery drive with photo stops at “Bishop’s hat”, the “gate of the south” to Ihosy ( capital of Bara tribe) and arrival to Isalo mountains after driving across the red grassland of the Horombe Plateau.Overnight at Le Relais de la Reine/Motel de l’Isalo on full board.
  • Day 05 – Isalo
Visit of the Isalo National Park which is one of Madagascar's most popular hiking destinations . This park features mainly beautiful scenery rather than wildlife. It is a deeply eroded, weirdly shaped sandstone rock with in between amazing plants such as , elephant foot and aloes. One of the most famous place, renowned in the world is the lovely “Natural swimming-pool” of Isalo. This mountain is a mystical place full of  Bara tombs and sacred sites as well.Overnight at Le Relais de la Reine/Motel de l’Isalo on full board.
  • Day  06 – Isalo/Tulear (about 4 hours drive)
After breakfast at Le Relais de la Reine, departure to Tulear for 250 km or 4 hours drives. The rugged mountains give way to grasslands. En route, photo stop of Ilakaka, new famous village of Sapphire diggers and further, it will be scenery of range of fan shaped palm, tableland, the first baobabs and spiny forest.Then arrival in Tulear, a relatively modern town, capital of Vezo tribe, for lunch.In the afternoon, city tour to the crafts market and university oceanic museum.Overnight at Victory/Sud Plaza on full board.
  • Day 07 – Tulear/Fort-dauphin/Berenty
After breakfast – transfer to the airport – fly to Fort-dauphin – transfer by motorcoach to the world-famous Berenty Reserve about 3 hours drive. The ensuing drive takes us through one of the world's most remarkable vegetation transitions, going from rain forest to arid spiny desert in just a few miles. We enjoy afternoon and evening walks through the reserve. Overnight at Berenty Lodge on full board.
  • Day 08 – Berenty
After breakfast - Day to explore  its gallery forest. This place is noted for the numerous ring-tailed lemurs and the spectacular dancer Sifaka. Afternoon visit of the best Museum of Madagascar.Overnight at Berenty Lodge on full board.
  • Day 09 – Berenty/Fort-dauphin
In the morning , drive back to Fort-dauphin Day at leisure- overnight at Kaleta hotel/Le Dauphin on full board.
  • Day 10 – Fort-dauphin/Tana
Transfer to the airport- fly to Tana – afternoon free  for shopping.Overnight at Relais des Plateaux/Ivotel on bed and breakfast.
  • Day 11 – Tana/out
