Day 2: After an early breakfast, depart Maroantsetra by boat for the voyage across the Baie d'Antongil to the Masoala Forest Lodge at Tampolo. The journey of 40 km takes between 1 -3 hours, passing close by Nosy Mangabe, with the possibility of dolphin and whale sightings in season and the thickly forested mountains of the peninsula as a dramatic backdrop to the destination. Settle into the camp, with a hot or cold beverage, depending on the weather. Explore the camp and nearby beaches and forest or maybe a quick snorkel on the reef before lunch. After lunch enjoy a short siesta, followed by a guided walk along the stunning coastline to view the sacred island at Tampolo point. Return by sunset, in time for a hot shower and sun-downers on the beach before dinner. Overnight to the sound of the sea and the forest in the Masoala Forest Lodge (1). Day 3: After breakfast, a guided walk into the primary forest of the Masoala National Park to view the birds, lemurs and countless other creatures endemic to this forest. Return to the camp for a well earned lunch and rest and possibly a short kayak outing in the evening for the energetic, with the option of a night walk to view the nocturnal wildlife after dinner. Overnight in the Masoala Forest Lodge (2). Day 4: After breakfast, a guided pirogue trip and walk through the coastal forest to the cascades of the Tampolo River, with the chance of sighting some more of the wildlife endemic to this area. After a relaxing afternoon on the nearby private beaches, an evening of entertainment and high spirits in the camp with a visit of the local traditional Malagasy music and dance group from the small local community of the area. Overnight in the Masoala Forest Lodge (3). Day 5: After an early breakfast, board the boat for the return voyage to Maroantsetra and the transfer to the airport for the flight out.

Day 6-7: Opportunity to return to the primary forest, or for some more snorkelling on other reefs, or some more sea kayaking, including the possibility of a half day outing by sea kayak past the sacred island at Tampolo point and to a pristine mangrove estuary and forest river, total distance approximately 8 kilometers, or other relaxing activities in the lodge surroundings. Overnight in the Masoala Forest Lodge (5,6) Day 8: After breakfast, board the boat for the return voyage to Maroantsetra and the transfer to the airport for the flight out.
